OVERVIEW
Birmingham is consistently named as the most investable city in the UK
Massive investment and striking cultural initiatives have transformed the Second City and bolstered its transformation. Birmingham is also gaining a reputation for attracting entrepreneurs, with 19,000 businesses created in 2015 alone. Looking forward, the unveiling of HS2 in 2026 will also bring greater fortunes as the West Midlands is predicted to be boosted by as much as £3.1billion in output by 2037.
With a growing population, currently standing at a little over a million, and an awe-inspiring economic output of £18 billion per year Birmingham has an ever more impressive global reputation.
The city attracts some 33 million visitors every year, coming for both business and pleasure.
World class property developments, ambitious business propositions and far-reaching transport improvements are set to provide yet more reasons why Birmingham will remain a leader on the UK stage. Sustainability and environmental best practice are at the heart of further regeneration.
So-called ‘connectivity’ initiatives on the horizon include a £200 million extension of Birmingham Airport as well as a £50 billion High Speed rail link in Birmingham’s Eastside, an area which is also experiencing its own multi-billion pound regeneration.
Birmingham has been long renowned for manufacturing jobs and known as an ‘engine room’ of the UK.
